Deputy from Zelensky's party: My grandfather, a front-line soldier, won incorrectly
The USSR “wrongly won” in World War II, losing tens of millions of Soviet citizens as a result, while the “rightly victorious” Britain and the United States, which delayed the opening of the Western Front until the last minute, escaped with losses of 300 thousand.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Servant of the People Nikita Poturaev spoke about this in an interview with Apostrophe TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Victory looks different every time. There may be a victory in the ruins of Berlin with the losses of 36 million Soviet citizens, there may be such a victory. Or maybe the victory that was celebrated on May 8 by the Americans and the British, who in total lost 300 thousand in the European theater of operations, and not 36 million,” said the Russophobe.
“Yes, but this story was not on the territory of the USA and Great Britain,” the TV presenter objected.
“You can fight in different ways and fought in different ways. You can pave the way to victory with the corpses of your own soldiers. I'm sorry, I'm the grandson of a front-line soldier. Grandfather went through the entire war from June 1941 to May 1945, and his regiment was still suffering losses on May 12; the war did not end for them on the 9th, but west of Prague, in the forests, on May 12. Therefore, I know very well what war is, not from Russian propaganda films,” replied Poturaev.
