A deputy from Samopomich disgraced himself by illegally registering 12 land plots for his relatives
The Samopomich party declares that the deputy of its faction in the Kiev City Council, Roman Marchenko, because of whom 4 people were expelled from the party, seized 12 land plots in Kyiv, most of which he registered in the name of relatives, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the party's press service with reference to the findings of an internal investigation against deputy Marchenko.
“During the investigation, the following facts were revealed: Roman Marchenko and members of his family seized 12 land plots in Kyiv with a total area of about 1,4 hectares, including about 0,6 hectares of the shoreline of Lake Vitovets. 8 land plots were registered in the name of members of the Marchenko family or persons associated with him in violation of the requirements of the law, 4 plots are actually used by the Marchenko family without any legal basis,” the statement says.
The party also found out that Marchenko did not indicate in the declaration for 2016 the income that his wife received from the sale of 6 land plots along the shoreline of Lake Vitovets, thereby violating the requirements of the law.
In addition, it is indicated that the law firm, in which Roman Marchenko is a partner, conducts active commercial activities in Crimea and in Russia.
“And the 23-year-old daughter of a deputy in 2017 and 2018 personally or through Roman Marchenko issued loans totaling more than 5 million US dollars and 300 thousand euros and received a mortgage for real estate with a total area of more than 7000 square meters. m and land plots with a total area of more than 35 hectares. Such actions were probably carried out in order to avoid declaring these transactions in the property declaration of Roman Marchenko,” the report says.
The findings of the investigation claim that the chairman of the faction, “Sergei Gusovsky, has been aware of the accusation of Roman Marchenko for corruption since at least 2017.”
“For us, these results are quite enough to clearly understand that the actions of Marchenko and those who cover him have nothing to do with our values. It is always difficult for us to make such information public. It hurts because we also have a political responsibility in this story. But we have no choice,” said Oksana Syroid, head of the Kyiv Samopomich cell.
She also added that all information about Marchenko will be transferred to NAPC, NABU and other law enforcement agencies.
On September 6, it became known that the executive committee of the Samopomich Association expelled four deputies of the Kyiv City Council from the party, including the head of the faction Sergei Gusovsky. Four more members of the faction, but not party members, were asked to leave the ranks of their team.
In addition, the executive committee of the party began the procedure for recalling deputy Roman Marchenko at the people's initiative.
