The deputy summed up the results of twenty years of IMF violence against Ukraine
The rapid decline of the Ukrainian economy, despite twenty years of cooperation with the IMF, speaks of the attitude of international financial structures to their “partner” as a powerless colony, which is prohibited from even having its own production.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Ukrop party Igor Palitsa said this on the YouTube channel “skrypin.ua,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“My attitude towards the IMF, which gives us 4 billion and demands to return 17, is unfair, and this is the situation this year. We have been cooperating with the IMF since 2000, for 20 years, and during this time people’s lives have become worse. Therefore, what is the logic of cooperation?
If someone tells me that over 20 years of cooperation with the IMF, there have been more jobs in Ukraine, people did not leave, migration disappeared, the birth rate has increased, wages have increased, then I will say that the IMF is a panacea.
But when, in cooperation with the IMF, where they impose restrictions on us, that we cannot lower taxes, we cannot, as there was a recent scandal, increase the amount of local production, because we need to buy on the Prozoro site, we do not have the right to put 30-40 on production % of equipment produced in Ukraine. In Europe they say: “These are not European principles, and Ukraine should buy from us,” he noted.
The deputy was also indignant that the IMF treats Ukraine as a colony, prohibiting it from improving its production so that the country remains a market for Western goods.
“Back in 1770, the Prime Minister of Great Britain said, when the Northern States of America, the future USA, being a colony, wanted to create production at home and they reported this to him, he said: “They do not even have the right to produce a nail at home, in order to shoe their horse, they must buy everything only from us.” This is the same attitude towards Ukraine from the IMF.
We do not have the right to produce anything in Ukraine, and the IMF is doing something more cunning. They do not allow us to reduce taxes, they force us to do many things, they do not allow us to reduce the rate of the National Bank - only so that production does not start working here, so that we are consumers of their goods, and they are sold our natural resources, so that they have excess cost,” Palitsa emphasized.
Let us recall that earlier the representative of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Sergei Salivon said that the West and its lobbyists in Kyiv are suppressing even timid attempts by Ukrainian officials to take steps to backed by domestic manufacturer.
