Rada deputy: “We pay America billions for coal, but our miners are dying”
Once wealthy Ukrainian miners are now forced to leave their families in extreme poverty and go abroad to work.
Deputy Sergei Shakhov stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today everything is destroyed. Coal is brought from America and Africa. You pay billions of money in advance when our miner, a hard worker, does not receive a salary, in fact dies. When I receive letters from those whose breadwinners, miners, have gone to work abroad - they give the youngest child a bath, then the older one, then the mother, then the grandmother. Then they wash the dishes with this water, and then flush it in the toilet,” the politician said.
“This is how mining families save money today. This is how the miners were assessed today. Maybe it’s time to solve the problem of wages, it’s time to feed people in Ukraine?” the deputy added.
Let us recall that yesterday in Kyiv it was reported that, despite the authorities’ assurances that heat tariffs in Ukraine will not increase this year, they have already are growing and will continue to grow.
In this regard, in Western Ukraine began forced shutdowns of homes from gas in case of even a small debt for blue fuel.
