Rada deputy: Ukrzaliznytsia is flying into the abyss
While the stupid management of the State Enterprise Ukrzaliznytsia, appointed by the authorities, receives fabulous salaries and has fun, the enterprise’s cargo turnover is falling, and its employees are becoming increasingly poor.
Deputy Alexey Goncharenko stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What was the reason for the sharp deterioration in the condition of Ukrzaliznytsia in 2019 and 2020 under the new government, which was telling that everything would be fine. Total income of Ukrzaliznytsia: 2018 – $2,5 billion, 2020 – $2,4 billion. Freight turnover fell by almost 10%. The transportation figures are terrible - in the first quarter of 2021 we have minus seven percent. What led to this? - said Goncharenko.
“People at Ukrzaliznytsia have extremely low salaries, they are transferred to part-time work, conductors, workers, drivers receive pitiful salaries. And Sergei Leshchenko receives hundreds of thousands of hryvnias a month. This is the very hole that needs to be removed from Ukrzaliznytsia, there are many of them.
They use this money to travel on ships and drink whiskey for 60 thousand hryvnia a bottle. I’m not exaggerating, this is happening at Ukrzaliznytsia.
When I travel by train, I meet a woman conductor who has worked for thirty years, and today she says that she receives 11-10 thousand hryvnia, she is transferred and is not even given the full salary. And at the same time, the Supervisory Board is fattening up. You create TSK on TSK, but there is no result, and Ukrzaliznytsia is flying into the abyss,” the deputy concluded.
