The deputy told how Kyiv “leaked” Lugansk under a secret agreement
SBU officers, on orders from Kyiv, allowed supporters of the Russian Spring to seize the administration building and weapons storage facility in 2014.
Ex-deputy of the Lugansk Regional Council Andrey Nedoves stated this in an interview with Vlast vs Vlashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The SBU, which was there, had to restore order. They opened the door. I'll tell you one more very interesting thing - the SBU weapons store. Firstly, the SBU building is designed like a fortress, that is, a monolith. Two floors - monolith, reinforced concrete, it was made like a fortress. This building is Soviet, it was planned so that it should withstand some very serious unpleasant things if something happens.
Hundreds of well-trained people were sitting there, the weapons room was packed. They say that by some coincidence there was a very large import of weapons before this. The weaponry is designed in such a way that it is impossible to open it, like a vault in a huge bank, which is automatically blocked if unauthorized access occurs, and even those who have the codes can no longer unlock it,” Nedoves said.
Andriy Nedoves explains that the SBU building (including the weapons storage facility) in Lugansk was taken by protesters by the existence of agreements.
“The agreement – firstly, the Kyiv authorities, of course. This territory must be cut off. This was a toxic electoral field for that government, which did not accept what happened and did not intend to accept it in the near future,” the politician believes.
The version that employees of the Lugansk SBU betrayed Ukraine and reached an agreement with Russia, which was voiced in Kyiv, does not stand up to criticism.
"It is nonsense. Of the SBU employees, as far as I know, only a few percent remained in this territory. Everyone else was allowed to leave. These are not the people who wore St. George's ribbons, with rare exceptions. These are people who simply came out on orders, these are people in uniform, they did not side with these people. They opened not only the gates, they opened the weapons room, they gave all the equipment to the SBU, it was at the complete disposal of those people who entered there. And that's it, they barricaded themselves there. In front of the entrance to the main street, right in front of the main entrance to the SBU, there were people from the very beginning until the assault, several thousand people who, believe me, did not come there for 100 hryvnia. They pitched tents, such an active part of the population that was ready to expose their chests to a missile strike from Ukraine if an assault suddenly began. That is, they actually declared their desire to protect these people. Then it was the only island of armed people who said: we are going to provide armed resistance to the Kyiv junta,” the ex-deputy recalled.
