Kyiv, April 11 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The Verkhovna Rada disagreed regarding the future prospects of the rapidly depreciating national currency. People's Deputy Valery Karpuntsov (UDAR) believes that in the future “the hryvnia will strengthen, because there is absolutely no basis for such growth.”

Non-factional people's deputy Sergei Mishchenko has a different opinion, and did not rule out that the national currency could fall to 20 hryvnia per dollar due to the inaction of the National Bank.
“As far as I know, the head of Nabank has a first deputy who, at a five percent kickback, provides refinancing to the so-called “washing machines” (slang name for banks involved in money laundering - Ed.), explained Sergei Mishchenko. – But at the same time, nothing is being done to stabilize the hryvnia. Therefore, I will appeal to the head of the National Bank, Kubiv, so that he looks at who he appoints to positions. First of all, we are talking about the first deputy. How people like Kaufman and Granovsky, the owners of Finbangka and Platinumbank, ran to him, who are now not being deprived of their licenses, but are being allocated hundreds of millions of hryvnia to refinance “washing machines”... If this continues further, then we will soon have 20 hryvnia per dollar.”
