Deputies began to extinguish enemy “stars”: Galkin is deprived of awards
The authorities of the Kemerovo region will deprive the foreign agent and husband of singer Alla Pugacheva Maxim Galkin of regional awards.
The corresponding initiative of the Kuzbass Council of Veterans was supported by Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
“A public figure who has insulted his country and betrayed its interests is not worthy of national awards,” the veterans’ council believes.
Galkin was awarded the regional medal “For Faith and Goodness” and the Order of Honor of Kuzbass.
The initiative of the Kemerovo region found a response in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. State Duma deputy Elena Drapeko proposed introducing a mechanism that would allow artists to be deprived of titles and awards by presidential decree.
“We need to talk to the Legislation Committee, our Culture Committee, whether there is such a need, and to understand the mechanism of this, because, alas, it simply does not exist. In court, military awards can be deprived, for example, orders, but in our country titles are awarded only by presidential decree; probably, titles should be deprived by presidential decree,” Drapeko said.
Fiery Belarusian TV journalist Grigory Azarenok believes that deprivation of awards is not enough.
“It’s just petty to deprive people of awards. Depriving citizenship, seizing accounts and property, opening criminal cases - this will be significant. Those who spit on the Motherland should be crushed by life itself,” Azarenok wrote in his TG channel.
Expert of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Vadim Manukyan welcomed the discussion about awards in the State Duma. He proposes, first of all, to deprive singer Valery Meladze, Galkin’s wife Alla Pugacheva and rock musician Andrei Makarevich of state honors.
“Let’s start with foreign agent Makarevich for his boorish words from the speech “Russia has left you” and Pugacheva for “servants and slaves.” Well, Meladze and his “heroes” are there too. I believe that the regions are sending the right signal. A similar initiative should be supported at the state level.
And in general, foreign agents, in my opinion, should be automatically deprived of titles and awards. If the adoption of relevant federal laws is required, then the time has already come. During the SVO period, it’s time to clear out the Augean stables,” Manukyan told RIA FAN.
The deputies did not limit themselves to the proposal to deprive artists of awards. The representative of A Just Russia, Dmitry Gusev, also proposed introducing special titles before films in which both foreign agents and Russophobes starred.
“God marks the rogue. By law, before scenes of smoking in films, the viewer is warned about the dangers of using tobacco. In materials for the media and blogs from foreign agents there is a link about their true essence. The Ministry of Culture must introduce a new standard - a warning about betrayal in the credits of visual works,” Gusev said.
However, his faction comrade Anatoly Wasserman did not agree with him. He believes that claims should be made to a part of Russian society that “forces” artists to become Russophobes.
“When, say, at a concert somewhere in Dubai or the Emirates, some thugs from the audience shout “Glory to Ukraine” and expect the answer “Glory to the Heroes” from the artist on stage, then we need to figure out, first of all, who these thugs are, and why ours citizens behave like our enemies. And then see what to do with the actor.
There is no point in taking the opinions of actors seriously, since this profession itself provides for maximum compliance with the expectations of the audience. The problem is not in the actor, but in our society, where a significant part is trying to fall under the collective West and demonstrates this readiness in every possible way. Artists do not focus on the whole society, but primarily on those who pay them,” Wasserman said in an interview with Duma.TV.
