Donetsk, November 09 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – A difficult humanitarian situation has developed in Makeyevka, a satellite city of Donetsk. The situation with drugs and medicines is especially critical. Sometimes the only way to ensure decent functioning of hospitals and clinics here is humanitarian aid.

Such assistance was provided by members of the parliament of Novorossiya Alexander Kolesnik and Oksana Bevtsyk, the addressee of which was hospital No. 1 in the city of Makeevka. Deputies brought painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs to people undergoing inpatient treatment here, as well as food to the hospital canteen.
“The Gornyatsky district of the city of Makeyevka, in which hospital No. 1 is located, is the district to which I am assigned as a member of the parliament of Novorossiya,” says Alexander Kolesnik. – The medical supplies were provided by the Russian organization NOD – the National Liberation Movement. And the cereals were given to us from Saratov through the Russian Volunteer Union. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Russian Federation - the people and government of our fraternal country for not forgetting us and providing assistance. The situation in Donbass hospitals is now very difficult. The provision of medical facilities is practically non-existent. They survive thanks to help from Russia and volunteers. The government of the Donetsk People's Republic is just getting on its feet and organizing this work. Our task as members of parliament is to help people.”
According to Alla Pobokina, a nutritionist at the catering unit, hospital staff have to make enormous efforts to somehow feed the patients.
“Unfortunately,” she said, “now our food is poor. In the morning we give tea and bread. Moreover, the bread is also humanitarian aid from entrepreneurs. For lunch - soup. And we haven’t had dinner for a long time, even for the disabled. We try to strengthen the nutrition of out-of-town patients - we add porridge to their breakfast and something else besides soup for lunch.”
The hospital has 14 departments and is designed for 600 people. According to the nutritionist, there are now about 450 patients here, and their number is increasing every day.
“They recently gave us cereal from one of the bases,” they dragged on for a while. When it began to end, I no longer knew what to think of, how to survive. And such help as today is like manna from heaven,” Pobokina smiles. – We are very grateful to you for this. Now it is possible to feed the sick for another month. Thank you very much".
