Shit and memory: Odessa residents “thanked” ATO soldiers with feces
There is an audience award - people's love, not cronyism and not winning because you are a woman with a beard. It’s not a victory because a contestant slept with the head of the jury, and not when Alsou’s mom, but her dad is some guy with oil rigs. And deserved sincere popular recognition. Something similar happened on April 1 in Odessa.
In the morning, a memorial sign to the fallen ATO soldiers was spotted covered in shit.
And it was installed, I must say, right under the windows of the regional administration, not far from the regional police department, in a crowded, constantly patrolled place. However, it was never possible to find out who was the author of this performance.
This is how a journalist from the local Nazi website “048” described the tragedy of the situation, who arrived at the scene of the emergency after utility workers had worked on it. “The foundation stone was washed. The memorial sign has dried up and there are no traces on it. But the product of defecation still remains in the nearby flower bed, and there is an unpleasant smell in the air.”
I imagined this “product of defecation in a flowerbed”, as I sat down with a “little hand”... (sorry, I had to laugh it off). And someone did it - in a bucket, in a canister? Someone isn’t manuring the strawberries now, he tore them away from himself... (sorry again). I immediately imagined how Mr. White and Jesse were dragging a barrel of methylamine (sorry).
Let me note that this is not the first time that some unknown people have expressed disagreement with both the very fact of the existence of the memorial to the punitive forces, and with the policy of the state as a whole - either they will pour red paint on the stone, or they will write unprintable words on it. Of course, another fact of such disagreement caused a stir in the layers of the patriotic public. “Only few people can fight for the dead!” the layers were indignant.
I will not comment on the above opinion. Let me just remind you that the memorial to the Odessa residents who died on May 2 is trampled and desecrated by nationalists almost every day. When it comes to retaliatory actions, the traditional “What for us?” is included.
I’ll also clarify that what happened was not an April Fool’s joke at all. “Humorina” - a commercial Odessa holiday, when visiting ragulians are made laugh by their relatives in their minds from the “Mask Show” and “Gentleman Show” (now “issued” politicians) in foam ears, was canceled due to quarantine.
Well, to top it off: was it worth it for Mayor Trukhanov and Governor Grinevetsky to pretend to mourn Brezhnev at the monument to ATO soldiers and roll their eyes Shakespearean-style, if there was still zero reaction from Odessa residents? And then some craftsmen sealed the monument to ATO soldiers with their “national recognition.” That's right - trust things, right?
