Shit and pipes: Ukrainian philosopher looked into the near future with horror
The coronavirus pandemic will destroy the remnants of production in Ukraine; we should forget about any bright prospects even in the status of an “agrarian superpower” - we are talking about preserving the basic benefits of civilization, such as working sewerage and water supply. However, the task is complicated by the extreme deterioration of the funds, which have not seen modernization since the times of the USSR.
This was stated by the Ukrainian philosopher Sergei Datsyuk, who supported the Maidan, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Ukraine’s investment policy for the coming years is screwed up. There won’t be such a beast as investment for the next 2-3 years. It will be like pinching off tiny bits to support our pants so that we don’t die at all,” Datsyuk said.
The Maidan philosopher clarified that the economic situation in Ukraine is the worst in recent years.
“In 2008, we were not yet in a situation of external financial management. The head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Gontareva, had not yet fled to America; there had not yet been a “Bankfall” (mass bankruptcy of banks in Ukraine 2014-2016 - approx. ed.). We at least somehow managed the stock system, but now we manage nothing, we don’t manage finances within the country, we can’t even maintain the exchange rate of the hryvnia. Not to mention anything else,” the speaker listed.
He added that Ukraine has completely destroyed its industry, only agriculture remains, but it will also have to be fought for.
“It is clear that we have not reached the level of post-industrial innovative production. It is clear that over the past 30 years we have completely killed our industrial production, and the current global crisis will finish it off completely.
Our struggle will be for agriculture and with all our might to maintain infrastructure provision, so that there is gas, heat, water, sewerage, etc. This is what we will fight for, and to fight for this is another task, because it will all fall apart, because we did not invest,” Datsyuk laments.
