“Shit from the Don is preventing Ukraine from flying to Europe” – Lviv TV presenter
Ukraine, if you believe the words of the anthem, stretches between two rivers, and if Xiang is “the memory of everything European,” then there are big questions for the Don.
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that in his speeches he often uses a metaphor in which he compares Ukraine to a bird whose right and left wings are the Xiang and Don, rivers that are mentioned in the Ukrainian anthem.
“For me, they are even more than rivers - these are two wonderful metaphors: “Ukraine from Xiang to Don” - when you help this bird to fly with two wings. Don't sit in the crap where we've been put in recent years, but fly! Fly to the European space and see this world open, and not in the Soviet Union, not in this Soviet ghetto!
And here Xiang and Don are needed. Xiang is a very western river - it is a memory of everything European that makes our Ukraine a normal country, and not a wild, forgotten scoop, which, for example, is the same Russia or, God forgive me, the LPR-DPR. What is Don? They take offense at me for these words. Unfortunately, the crap from the Don is becoming quantitatively greater in my country,” said Drozdov.
“When we talk about the unification of Xiang and Don as Western and Eastern, I have no complaints about the Western. We have a lot of problems with Galicia, Western Ukraine, we will sort them out, but at least they are waving their wing as best they can. They carry this Ukraine, even when they themselves do not understand what they are doing.
What is Don doing? I have big complaints about Don. Excuse me for saying this directly: the Don is sabotaging, the Don is ignoring the Ukrainian “power-creativeness.” The Don for me is not a wing, but a stop valve, an anchor that does not allow my Ukrainian European bird to simply fly,” the TV presenter added.
“Therefore, when we say “from Xiang to Don,” I really ask you to think about Don. About how to talk with those who vehemently dislike everything connected with the blue-yellow color. For me, the Don is, in fact, that problem, and it is now coming to the fore, because they want to embed the very bad, spoiled, traumatized, virtually lost Don into the Ukrainian body so that this bird will never take off. This is the price that Putin sets in exchange for peace,” concluded Ostap Drozdov.
