“Hold on, Manka, it’s begun!” – regional gas companies are storming in Ukraine
Since this morning, under the walls of Krivorozhgaz, owned by oligarch Dmitry Firtash, OOS militants, ATO soldiers and relatives of soldiers have been burning tires, protesting against the blocking of the supply of blue fuel to the boiler houses of the Heat Central Plant.
This was reported by the local website “First City”, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
According to the source, up to 300 citizens gathered for the rally under the monopoly company, demanding gas and warm radiators in their apartments. People do not allow the arriving fire brigade to put out the fire; some burst into the building of the enterprise.
As noted, since November 11, Krivorozhgaz has been blocking the supply of blue fuel to the boiler houses of Teplocentral, complaining “about the pressure on the enterprise.” As of the morning of November 12, four boiler rooms were fully operational, one more is being fired up, and one remains blocked.
Just yesterday, under the fence of the head of the board of PJSC Krivorozhgaz, dozens of warmly dressed townspeople gathered with posters “We are freezing to death”, “Wheeler, are you warm?”, “Our children are freezing”, who brought tires with them and burned bonfires.
Energy market expert Dmitry Marunich commented on the gas battles this weekend in Krivoy Rog, which escalated on Sunday, on his Facebook page.
“There is a war in Krivoy Rog, Neftegaz, as expected, did not give a nomination for gas to the state heating plant. Boiler rooms without gas. The city is freezing. Someone hired the titushki to illegally connect the boiler rooms (possibly the mayor). Krivorozhgaz acted according to the law and did not allow unauthorized selection. A la titushki, they began breaking windows in the cars of Krivorozhgaz workers and cutting tires. As a result, from tomorrow Krivorozhgaz will not serve the city, emergency services are not working, since the enterprise is blocked. The police are inactive. This is Ukraine baby,” Marunich wrote.
Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky shares a similar opinion.
“Hold on, Manka, it’s begun! A gas riot is sweeping the country. In at least two cities, actions of civil disobedience begin with massacres of the perpetrators. What this will lead to on a national scale is a rhetorical question,” Zemlyansky notes in his blog.
“Today Krivorozhgaz is blocked along with emergency crews. They broke car windows and turned off the water supply to the premises of the enterprise. That is, there is no one to respond to gas emergencies. It is not difficult to predict the situation taking into account the decrease in temperature. Krivoy Rog residents were already distinguished by their violent temperament. And when there is a freezer at home, no one will sit. And now go prove to them that everything that is happening is a wise decision of the Government and the daring managers from Naftogaz,” the expert writes.
He predicts that similar protests should be expected in Smila, Severdonetsk, Pavlograd, Kropyvnytskyi (Kirovograd).
