Hold me seven! Estonia intends to save Ukraine from destruction
Estonia will never recognize Crimea as Russian and will in every possible way support Kyiv in the confrontation with Moscow.
The head of the Estonian Parliament Committee on International Affairs, Marko Michelson, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Estonia, we will never recognize the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. We must understand that this is not only a question of Crimea - this is a question of Ukraine, this is a question of freedom in Europe, the freedom of all of us who share democratic values and principles of international law.
Because from February 2014 until now, Russia has been constantly trying to destroy the statehood of Ukraine. Not only destroy the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also tries to destroy sovereignty and statehood. And we, Estonia, are constantly monitoring the situation and providing all possible assistance to our friends in Kyiv so that they can resist aggression. And, indeed, we must work together so that this issue does not disappear from the radar of discussions,” Mikhelson said.
In turn, Deputy Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Igor Yaremenko called on European “partners” to impose new sanctions against Russia.
“We propose a sanctions regime against those who violate the rights of residents of Crimea,” the deputy minister called.
