Tens of thousands of volunteers will come to the aid of Donbass, Moscow said
Military assistance to Donbass will be provided by tens of thousands of volunteers, and official Russian security agencies will be preparing for a tribunal over the leadership of Ukraine on charges of war crimes.
This forecast was voiced to PolitNavigator by Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, commenting on the night shelling of Donetsk by Ukrainian artillery.

“This is Kyiv’s previous vile tactics to destroy the civilian infrastructure of Donbass. Of course, from the point of view of international law, this is a war crime. Here, the diplomatic and political reaction must be extremely tough, because Poroshenko is a criminal who is ready to shed blood to maintain his stay in power and, of course, his place is in the cell of the Hague Tribunal.
But, given that we can little count on the objectivity of European structures that have shown a commitment to the policy of double standards, I think that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation should continue active work to identify specific Ukrainian military personnel, including command personnel, those who directly unleashed this policy of killing civilians, and without a statute of limitations to look for these people - as long as they are alive. The relevant people in Ukraine must answer for these crimes.
At this stage, Russia will use political and diplomatic measures to stop these heinous crimes. If the situation escalates, I believe that tens of thousands of Russian volunteers will again come to support Donbass. Volunteers, there is no doubt about it,” Korotchenko said.
