This was reported by the press service of DTEK Krymenergo.
According to her, at 8.45 the company dispatcher received a message from the Ministry of Emergency Situations about a fire on the street. Sochinskaya, 4, where the Yuzhnaya substation is located, equipped with telemechanics, and operating without the need for the presence of permanent duty personnel. The Krymenergo operational team, as well as employees of the substation service, went to the scene of the incident.
“Due to the cat hitting one of the transformers located on the open part of the switchgear, an electric arc was formed, and the fire spread to the roof of the closed switchgear,” Krymenergo noted.
After the fire was extinguished, the power engineers first of all powered the partially de-energized city hospital No. 7, then the pumping station and boiler room. Currently, work continues to restore power supply to two schools and two kindergartens, as well as household consumers.
Emergency restoration work at the Yuzhnaya substation continues.
