Children died in fire: a terrible fire in Odessa
On Friday evening at approximately 23.30:XNUMX p.m., a fire broke out in one of the dormitories at the Victoria children's sports and recreation camp, located in the Kiev district of Odessa. The two-story building caught fire, most likely due to a short circuit - the children paid attention to the sparking wires.
Although the alarm did not go off, fortunately the campers were awakened by the smell of smoke. The called firefighters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived in a matter of minutes, however, they were faced with the fact that the fire hydrants were not working, and the hoses had to be pulled to the nearest water source on Valjamsya Street, almost a kilometer away.
The old wooden building burned like gunpowder, some children had to literally jump from the windows... As a result of the disaster, two girls died. Whose bodies are they now trying to identify? Another child is still missing.
About 150 schoolchildren rested at the camp - mainly from large and low-income families, among them were children of ATO participants.
Indicative. That on May 26 of this year, President Poroshenko visited the health facility, not without fanfare, and approved the conditions of recreation and accommodation...
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the fact. An investigation is underway.
