It was funny if it weren't so sad. This phrase comes to mind now that a new scandal has occurred in KVN. In general, the Club has collected more scandals in recent years than in the last ten years. And all of them, these stories, as a rule, are political.

So, "Turing's Children" - a team from Minsk - decided not to participate in the quarterfinal games. The explanation is as follows. The games will be held in Crimea, and, therefore, it is necessary to go there, according to the team, through Ukraine. And then there’s the coronavirus. You can’t go through Russia - after all, these are sanctions, and Belarusian universities have good relations with Ukrainian universities. By the way, how is their relationship with the Russians, huh?

All this, of course, is demagoguery, but the explanation is simple: “Turing’s Children” do not believe that Crimea is Russian, and this disbelief is deliberately emphasized and emphasized. They are catching the hype, in general. Because part of the population, like the union of Belarus, has such a worldview - it’s fashionable now. And profitable. The latter is the main thing here.

Now let’s talk about how to understand and accept all this. Quite easy actually. There is a group of people that exists in captivity of prejudices, or rather, in captivity of certain myths that, like chimeras, work to maintain a certain dubious construct. “Ukrainian Crimea” is just such a chimera. Exactly for the reason that he is no longer Ukrainian and will never be so. This is clear to everyone, including the Ukrainian authorities. (Whether this is right or not - let everyone decide for themselves).

However, this government intensively uses stories and myths about the Ukrainian Crimea. For what? To maintain its no less mythical existence than this chimera. This is, in fact, the cornerstone on which the political program exists. Are the roads bad? Wait, what about “Russian aggression”? Are they stealing? But what about the fact that Crimea was “annexed”? Yes, this stone is fictitious, and therefore the sociopolitical program, or any other, really - in practice - does not work. This is what we, in fact, observe in the Ukrainian example. When there is a complete deconstruction of both common sense and statehood. And the longer Kyiv tries to feed the electorate with myths, the sooner it will begin to collapse, because wandering among chimeras is fraught with death.

It's sad that such talented guys as the Turing Children fed this chimera. Their talent is beyond doubt – it was no coincidence that they blew up KVN this season. Apparently, this is how they decided to add politics to themselves so that, without really achieving anything, they would transfer themselves to the status of legends. Legends among schoolchildren and the politicized public, ready to eat any nasty thing - the main thing is that it is seasoned with an anti-Russian protest spirit. For such characters, Navalny is a great politician, and Efremov is a great actor. And yes, of course, decent people. Ha!

But this is exactly what we can say. We love to think about friendship - or, at least, partnership - within the framework of our “Union State”, but it, this partnership, as a rule, consists of feeding, which does not guarantee, and more often than not, their support. Simply put, people play their game. And they profess anti-Russian cults.

We’ve already seen this somewhere: the KVN team seems to be jokingly dressing other people’s monuments in Belarusian embroidered shirts. Ukrainian “non-brothers” were several years ahead of the children of the “union state” - remember the Odessa Duke and the Brussels Manneken Pis in embroidered shirts

It may be true that the “Turing Children” have become hostages of their own image, like, for example, the once-famous “Kefir” team (yes, yes, I’ve been watching KVN without interruption since 1992), but... it’s more likely the desire to play politics.

By the way, it seems like “Turing’s Children” is worth waiting for next season, but I’m afraid they won’t make it. Now they will be actively used in both humorous and political projects. For example, they will invite you to the Ukrainian League of Laughter.

However, no legends will emerge from Turing's Children. They will be forgotten faster than Sentsov’s backpack. After all, KVN remains as it was. And he will not notice the loss of a fighter who decided to ride on his fame and political surroundings. These are digested and spat out quickly. There were - and there are not. To achieve something in humor, you need to play KVN for a long time - like “Ural Dumplings” or “Burnt by the Sun”, and you shouldn’t count on express delivery of fame. In general, politics is a similar story.

Well, the Turing Children chose their own path. It's a pity. But it was a good team.
