Kyiv, November 07 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – In the wake of the post-Maidan renewal, a lot of people who had not previously been seen in law enforcement agencies ended up in the police. Those who became public figures under the new minister speak of themselves as people of exceptional honesty. For example, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko. But in reality, he does not meet the high criteria at all, as stated in the Accidents news story.

Gerashchenko and Avakov have a lot in common - both were in power in the Kharkov region. When the current head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was governor, Gerashchenko headed one of the region’s districts.

“Arsen Borisovich and I met on the Maidan in 2004, after which we work together in the political sphere,” Gerashchenko said in an interview.

“Anton Gerashchenko was the youngest head of the Krasnograd district of the Kharkov region. Based on the results of his work, he received an order of merit at his young age,” Avakov himself praises his subordinate.

At the same time, residents of the Krasnodon region have completely unhappy memories of “the youngest and most honored”. People say that under Gerashchenko the area was stolen and sold.

“We had a ferris wheel in the park, and he dismantled it and sold it. He made debts and ran away from here. I know him very well, he lived in a nine-story building on the eighth floor, took girls around, and collected debts. The park was destroyed, and there were attractions there. That's his job. The cinema was destroyed and taken away. But in the forest restaurant there are boozy parties. I have a share, I wanted to take that too, but it didn’t work out. They took them away from other collective farms,” one of the local residents told reporters.

Her words are confirmed by others: “There was a Ferris wheel here, the children were riding, so he drank it away in a forest hotel. I cut it, sold it for scrap and got money. He bought 30 thousand worth of alcohol, and they told him – if you don’t give it back, we’ll sort you out here. Well, he took the wheel off and sold it."
