The girl blew up a grenade while fleeing rape by Ukrainian soldiers
The “Union of Prisoners of War and Political Prisoners of Donbass” appealed to the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Minsk Contact Group, Viktor Medvedchuk, with a request to assist in the release of Nadezhda Kozlova, who suffered an attempted rape by Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and was sentenced by a Ukrainian court to 14 years.
The head of the Union of Mothers of Ukraine movement, Galina Zaporozhtseva, stated this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the human rights activist, in 2014, drunken soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dragged 19-year-old Nadezhda into a car and tried to rape her. The girl managed to pull the pin in a grenade hanging on the side of one of them. As a result, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and the second was seriously wounded. The girl herself was also injured; her arm and leg were torn off. In February 2016, Kozlova was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
“The Union of Prisoners of War and Political Prisoners of Donbass appeals to you, as a member of the subgroup on humanitarian issues of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, demanding that you resolve the issue of saving the life of a political prisoner who is in serious condition,” the appeal says.
