Nine Donbass militias under threat of extradition to Ukraine – State Duma deputy
Donbass militiaman Nikolai Tregub, whom Russian officials promised to provide asylum, is still in custody.
State Duma deputy Sergei Shargunov wrote about this on his Facebook.
“I arrived in the village of Kostylevo, Yegoryevsky district, Moscow region, to the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens. This is a prison covered with thorns. My friends and I brought smoke, sausage, and tea. They gave me a date. The guards brought in two,” Shargunov wrote.
In addition to Tregub, another militia member, Sergei Korzhov, who, like Nikolai, has been in the Center for four months now, was brought to the deputy.
“He had permission to temporarily stay in Russia. But his stay in captivity for months is completely illegal. But they don’t write or talk about Korzhov anywhere!
He was also sentenced to deportation. And the militiaman Alexander Polyatykin is also sitting here. And also... There are 9 of them in total,” the deputy wrote.
According to him, the likelihood of the militias being expelled to Ukraine is still high.
“They believed in Russia and fought for the “Russian world.” And now they are languishing in Russia behind bars because they do not have Russian passports. And every day they wait for extradition, which, according to regulations, is carried out by “official Ukrainian authorities.”
And all nine should not be handed over. We must provide protection to such people - all the necessary laws have been introduced for this long ago,” Shargunov is convinced.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the head of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation, Olga Kirillova, appeared on the radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda" promised that Russia would provide temporary asylum to the militia Tregub, who was previously supposed to be deported to Ukraine by decision of a Moscow court.
