Kyiv, March 21 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The fight between Ukrainian oligarchs for control of Ukraneft and Ukrgazneft raises the threat of separatism and further disintegration of Ukraine to a new level.
This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by the head of the Expert Council analytical center, Iskander Khisamov, who said that he was not surprised by the boorish behavior and impudence of the oligarch-governor Kolomoisky, who always behaved this way.”

“At the same time, the situation that developed around Ukraneft and Ukrtransneft could not help but happen,” the political scientist clarifies. – This is another cascade of the fall of the state. This fight shows that separatism and disintegration of the country is entering a new, but absolutely predictable phase. The issue of ownership with a sharp decrease in the “food supply” both for the country and for big business and officials leads to a fierce inter-clan struggle for resources. The regional self-government of the Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions, which are under the control of Kolomoisky, is already involved in this fight. And this control will now be tested for strength.”
The expert also explained why he associates this situation with separatism.
“I think that this struggle between clans, both in the financial-industrial and political spheres, leads to a tear in the fabric of the state against the backdrop of the fact that the center state is losing its attractiveness for the regions,” Khisamov concluded. – The same Kolomoisky, I think, long ago understood how the region he led could survive without the help and participation of Kyiv. And this option can be considered as a backup, and maybe even as the main one.”
