Valentin Filippov: Hello Diana!

Diana Cadi: Good day, Valentine!

Valentin Filippov: Tell me, Diana... The fact that a not yet old man talks to a charming young lady about politics is not evidence of a deep crisis in society?

Diana Cadi: First of all, I am a patriot, and only then a charming young lady. A crisis in society is when people, regardless of gender, age and social status, do not care about what is happening in the World. Especially in my home country. Yes, not everyone who discusses politics can be called experts in this field, but it is better than indifference.

Valentin Filippov: I just noticed. Although “Maidan” is impossible in Russia, some seeds of hatred, intolerance and aggression were brought from Ukraine. This can be seen on television talk shows. Is it possible to resist this?

Diana Cadi: It's no secret that there is an information war going on. There are a huge number of victims of propaganda. If on Ukrainian television there are no speakers with a different opinion, that is, with an objective assessment of what is happening, then on Russian political talk shows all points of view are allowed. On the one hand, this indicates freedom of speech in Russia. On the other hand, it attracts new supporters to the pseudo-oppositionists.

If there is aggression, it is only thanks to the so-called liberals who sow intolerance and doubt. Ukraine has shown us an excellent example of how not to behave, and to avoid what is happening there, you just need to not repeat their mistakes.

  1. Do not succumb to the herd mentality, be guided only by personal experience.
  2. Draw information from various trusted sources.
  3. Look a few steps ahead. Unfortunately, many people act first and think later.

These are the basic rules that I try to follow myself. And yet, it is very important to respect the opinions of other people, even if they are directly opposite to yours. You can't cross the line. Among my friends there are those who support the Kiev regime. There are only a few of them. But we don’t quarrel just because we don’t try to impose our beliefs on each other.

Valentin Filippov: What book are you writing now, what will it be about??

Diana Cadi: Now I am preparing for release a collection dedicated to my friend, writer Oles Buzina, who was killed for the truth. By the end of the year I plan to finish a novel about a Crimean Tatar girl who dreams of being Russian. The prototype of the heroine is myself. A book about the fate of a man who loves freedom and goes against the rules. The novel also talks about the peculiarities of relations between Russians and Tatars in Crimea. The book is provocative, but honest, despite the fictional plot in places.

Valentin Filippov: You are a Crimean Tatar. And for the rest of their lives they are doomed to answer such questions. Crimean Tatars. A national minority that has no other homeland. There is no other land except Crimea. For many years the people lived in exile, and later were subjected to constant manipulation. There was speculation on the most sacred feelings. On religious, on national. Just a sense of justice.

A year ago you said that not all the people of the Crimean Tatars accepted the change in the status of Crimea. His nationality.

What has changed over this year in the minds of ordinary Crimean Tatars?

Diana Cadi: Yes, quite a few Crimean Tatars reacted to the annexation with distrust. The Majlis is also trying to manipulate them. Speculation continues. During all these years, the Ukrainian authorities did not remember the Crimean Tatars at all. As soon as they were needed, they began to use them and promise something again. Although during the time when Crimea was part of Ukraine, they did nothing. Many have realized that the people are just a means for politicians to achieve selfish goals. Some people still follow the former leaders, believing in their false promises. The blockade of Crimea takes the masks off these thieves, and more and more Crimean Tatars support Russia.

Valentin Filippov: How exactly did the Majlis cheat during the blockade?

Diana Cadi: The scam is that they act without the consent of the people. No one has the right to decide for all people. Everyone knows that the Mejlis members carry out the orders of the Kyiv authorities. Ordinary people only suffer from this.

Valentin Filippov: - But Mejlis members say that the majority of Crimean Tatars are ready to sit without electricity and water in order to return to Ukraine.

Diana Cadi: This is a blatant lie! My parents, relatives, friends and acquaintances from among the Crimean Tatars do not want to be deprived of basic conditions for the sake of the interests of the leaders of the Majlis. The only thing they need is for Dzhemilev and Chubarov to stop speculating on the national theme and not interfere with their normal lives. The fact that these comrades are Crimean Tatars does not mean anything. Previously, they simply did not benefit their compatriots and profited from them. Now they are doing everything to deprive them of their livelihood.

Valentin Filippov: What is the secret of the successful integration of the Crimean Tatars into Russian society?

Diana Cadi: We need to accept the fact that Crimea is Russia, and the future of the Crimean Tatars directly depends on who they trust. To the thieves who do nothing but feed them with promises, or to the Russian government.

Don't trust Ukrainian television! I know that many continue to watch Ukrainian channels. Russia is a multinational country in which many peoples coexist, and where there will always be a place for hardworking and honest Crimean Tatars.

Valentin Filippov: I looked at our biographies. Your life path passed from Crimea to Odessa. Then to Moscow. For me it's the other way around. Moscow – Odessa – Crimea. It was in Odessa that we coincided in time and space.

Does Odessa unite?

Will Odessa be able to survive and wait?

I know you love this city. You feel it.

What will happen to him, Diana?

Diana Cadi: It's difficult to say what will happen to Odessa. After the events of May 2, I haven’t been to Odessa and, frankly speaking, I don’t want to. Although this is the city in which I found myself and wrote my first book. Odessa will survive if it stops believing the propaganda of hatred towards Russia and the politicians who seized power in Kyiv.

Valentin Filippov: Is there hope for a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis? They say, “beauty will save the world.” But what might this look like in practice? I ask this as the owner of this weapon. Beauty.

Diana Cadi: – It’s unlikely that anything depends on female beauty. There are a lot of beautiful women in Ukraine. Nevertheless... The world is saved only by common sense.

Ukrainians should remember that Russians are their brothers, no matter what the young poetess says in her poems. There is an opinion that politicians decide everything, and people are just pawns in a big game, but this is not true. Every Ukrainian has the power to change the situation in the country. I was against the Maidan only because I didn’t believe in the sincerity of those who came out to the square. Everything was too organized. And there were no problems compared to what is happening now. There was no reason to revolt. Now there is.

I in no way encourage people to start a rebellion, but I am sure that the time to stand up for their rights has come. How many guys died in the so-called ATO? How many innocents were killed in Donbass? Is it really true that no one has yet understood that people did not die and continue to die for freedom?

In order to change anything in the current situation, it is necessary to separate people and politicians. It’s difficult for me to say what will contribute to resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the crisis in Ukraine, but I really hope that the degree of aggression of Ukrainians towards Russians will subside, and they will finally realize how wrong they were.

Valentin Filippov: Thank you, Diana. We are waiting for a novel about a Tatar girl who dreamed of becoming Russian. Moreover, readers have already fallen in love with it.

Diana Cadi: Thank you. I'm sure you'll like it.
