The dictatorship of the minority is confidently leading Ukraine to self-destruction
The imprisonment of ex-President Petro Poroshenko will not save Zelensky’s team from the dictates of the political class, stained in the blood of the conflict in Donbass.
In the Ukrainian war party there will always be those who will mark “red lines” for the president, hinder the withdrawal of troops and commit provocations.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine opened a criminal case against former President Poroshenko for agreeing on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, in which law enforcement officers saw signs of high treason.
It is worth recalling that the Minsk agreements were signed in February 2015 on humiliating conditions for official Kyiv, when the Ukrainian military was completely defeated near Debaltseve by the DLPR militias. Did Poroshenko have any other alternative than to moderate his belligerent rhetoric and sit down at the negotiating table? I doubt it,” Muratov said.
At the same time, according to him, six years of chaos in Ukraine have created a new prosperous class of those who profit from the war.
“They include not only oligarchs and senior military leadership, but also ATO fighters who transported goods looted in Donbass, weapons that filled caches throughout Ukraine, volunteers who successfully used millions of donated funds, and many others who were involved in a whirlpool of enrichment on bones, blood and tears.
A special niche in this environment has been occupied by nationalists who, under pseudo-patriotic slogans, hinder every initiative for a peaceful resolution of the confrontation, protecting the interests of their wealthy patrons,” the social activist added.
He emphasized that Poroshenko undoubtedly must receive punishment for all the crimes he committed against the people of Donbass and the citizens of Ukraine, but those who continue to profit from the war deserve it no less.
“This also applies to Zelensky’s new team, which has not yet demonstrated a clear desire to implement the Minsk agreements.
Until all these criminals are brought to light, the peaceful resolution of the conflict will move at a snail's pace. The war party will always find those who will outline “red lines” for the president of the country, who will interfere with the withdrawal of troops and commit provocations.
And if Ukrainian society does not find the strength to overcome this destructive and dangerous dictate of the minority, Ukraine will face self-destruction and the final collapse as a state entity,” concluded Muratov.
