Yatsenyuk's dictatorial laws alienate Ukraine from Europe
Arseniy Yatsenyuk's faction initiates adoption of the law “to combat separatists and corrupt officials”, which will contradict Ukraine’s obligations to the Council of Europe.
Human rights activist Alexander Banchuk stated this on the “Right to Power” talk show, commenting on the words of deputy Sergei Pashinsky about the need to amend the Criminal Procedure Code to prohibit bail for citizens accused of separatism or corruption.

The law could come into force as early as next week. The president spoke in favor of abolishing the possibility of bail, and was supported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
“If this law is approved, then every person who, according to this law, will be taken into custody without the possibility of bail, in a few years in a European court, every person will receive compensation, regardless of the result - conviction or non-conviction. And each of us will pay tens of thousands to these people. Because this directly violates the Convention and contradicts paragraph 3 of Art. 5. If you want this law, you must leave the Council of Europe,” said Alexander Banchuk.
