Dimitriev: The Ukrainian regime has not yet survived its Russophobic poison
The policy of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will be the same Russophobic as that of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko, because they are both dependent people, and parliamentary elections will not change anything.
Ex-deputy of the Odessa City Council Igor Dimitriev stated this on the Rossiya 24 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This (elections to the Verkhovna Rada - editor's note) most likely will not have any effect on relations with Russia. The “Zelensky” project itself is as anti-Russian as “Poroshenko”; it simply uses the opportunities of the South-East and the opposite trend in Ukrainian politics to the previous one.
That is, if Poroshenko rode on nationalist rhetoric, everyone was tired of it, in the mass consciousness there was a rollback of this, despite the media pumping, and Zelensky rode on the desire of people to reduce the degree of this civil confrontation, including within.
But this will affect foreign policy to a minimal extent. He is a rather dependent person in both domestic and foreign policy,” Dimitriev noted.
As evidence, he cited a list of Vladimir Zelensky’s personnel, which contains many prominent Russophobes, and not a single truly pro-Russian person.
“What happens, for example, with the Servant of the People list.” Despite the pre-election rhetoric, the list is staffed by exactly the same people who made their careers under Poroshenko and whipping up hysteria. It includes, among other things, people who participated in the creation of the “Peacemaker” website and other projects, the purpose of which was precisely to escalate the civil conflict and confrontation with Russia. There is not a single significant representative of the South-East in the top ten,” added the former people’s deputy.
Also, in his opinion, even the victory of the “pro-Russian opposition,” which also includes many famous Ukrainian “patriots,” will not change the situation in the country.
“As for the rest of the projects, even the most pro-Russian, or at least the one that is considered so in Moscow - the opposition bloc “For Life” included such a number of obvious scum, scoundrels and people directly involved in the confrontation with Russia that it can be perceived as pro-Russian, as at least strange,” the expert concluded.
