Diplomat: Americans are preparing Sternenko’s killer for president of Ukraine
The person of Odessa right-wing radical Sergei Sternenko, sentenced to seven years, is being promoted in the media specifically to make him an alternative to ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
Verkhovna Rada deputy and diplomat Oleg Voloshin stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Voloshin, Sternenko is supported by the United States through the former acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun, who has influence in Washington.
“They taught him to speak, put on glasses, combed his hair. Notice who is its main curator? Mrs. Ulyana Suprun. Ulyana Suprun is Sternenko’s godmother in Ukrainian politics. Someone might say: “Just think, some woman who completely killed our medicine, retained American citizenship, contrary to the law, and, in general, no one.”
No, I am trying, through my American friends and acquaintances, to understand the nature of her influence in Washington. It’s not clear to me, but she has a significant voice in Washington... I know that they have been targeting Sternenko as an alternative to Poroshenko for a long time. They understand that Poroshenko, due to corruption scandals, due to the fact that a person recorded conversations with US Vice President Biden, no one in Washington will forget this, he is no longer suitable for Washington as a candidate to replace Zelensky. Therefore, they are now actively looking for an alternative...
Sternenko now, they hope that there will be an appeal, that he will come out and now really become a hero. And here a lot depends on the authorities. If Zelensky and his entourage really put pressure on the court of appeal and allow this verdict to be overturned, then they will lose all respect from reasonable people, journalists, and so on, and secondly, they will receive a serious competitor for the next presidential election.
I would look at Sternenko from this point of view. All that is happening is that the guy is still little known to society compared to the same Poroshenko, but he is now being actively promoted in order to say: “He didn’t steal the money, did he?” Didn't steal. And he hates Russia no less than Poroshenko. That is, this is such a “good Poroshenko,” Voloshin said.
Thank you!
