LPR diplomat: The Minsk format is no longer two, but four countries
Ukraine will no longer be able to ignore the Donbass republics, which over the past five years have formed into full-fledged states.
President-elect Vladimir Zelensky will have to form a new team for negotiations in Minsk and make direct contact with representatives of the LPR and DPR.
The representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk, adviser to the head of the republic, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on air on the PolitWera network resource, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In this case, Ukraine must do the first thing - issue a decree and stop shooting. The next thing is to staff a new group of people with clear guidelines, with the main goal being to negotiate. And send them to negotiate in Minsk.
There is no need to reinvent the wheel; you need to be given the opportunity to calmly sit down at the negotiating table and clarify positions. For our part, we will come with our clear understanding of how, what interests we protect, what we will not give up in any way, and where it is possible to seek a compromise.
Today the Minsk Agreements are something different than they were in 2015. During this time, Ukraine changed all conditions. Today there are already separate entities. There is not just a torn off piece of Ukraine called Donetsk and Lugansk, there are separately formed state entities that, under pressure from Ukraine, due to the inaction of Ukraine, due to the inability of Ukraine to negotiate, have passed the path that we are talking about today as the fifth anniversary of our republics, which have already formed as state entities.
Therefore, the conversation should be conducted precisely between these state entities and an agreement on coexistence should be reached. No one will run to Kyiv and beg on their knees “take us back”,” Miroshnik said.
Thank you!
