Diplomat Saakashvili announced an unpleasant forecast for Ukraine about the strengthening of Russia
The aggravation in Afghanistan again brings Russia into the fold of key players with weight in the region and forces the West to resume full communication with it in the G8 format.
Bacho Korchilava, a former press attache of the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine (from the time of Mikheil Saakashvili), stated this during an interview with the You-Tube channel of Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Korchilava emphasized that Russia has enormous influence on Central Asia, so it will not be possible to solve problems here without it.
“These events will directly affect us, because in Central Asia, unfortunately, in fact, there is only one major player left - this is Russia. She was one from the beginning, and this will lead to her role becoming stronger.
They will talk to her more, because the problems of Afghanistan, the problems of Central Asia will need to be solved. Taking into account the fact that Russia is currently in Tajikistan, most likely it will appear in Uzbekistan; in principle, it has never left all other Central Asian countries - they are everywhere...
This is a painful moment for us, because the strengthening of Russia’s role in Central Asia will inevitably lead to the fact that they will begin to talk with the Russian Federation within the G8 and in all other formats, because now these energy-rich regions are very important for the United States,” – said Korchilava.
