Ukraine must respond in a mirror manner to the actions of the Russian Federation in the Sea of Azov.
This opinion was expressed on the Espreso TV channel by Ukrainian diplomat Bogdan Yaremenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have all the same opportunities that the Russians have. We can also stop, under various pretexts, ships that are moving to Russian ports in the Sea of Azov. We have the same rights in the Sea of Azov as the Russians,” the diplomat said.
At the same time, he denies the possibility of military clashes in Azov.
“For this we do not need to fight, we do not need to collide with the ships of the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation or fight with them. We can use mirror actions,” says Yaremenko.
The expert slyly “forgot” about the seizure of the Kerch fishing vessel “Nord” by Ukrainian border guards and the arrest of the crew.
In addition, the expert called such actions by the Russian side another element of the hybrid war against Ukraine.
“This is another fragment of the hybrid war waged by Russia against Ukraine. It began because the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait was completed, which had already technically limited navigation in the Sea of Azov. This is being done to send a signal to the owners of the vessels, those who are chartered by the vessels, the owners of cargo, that there is no need to work with Ukrainian ports,” Yaremenko said.
