Diplomat: The West believed in Ukraine’s victory and is turning it into a black hole
The UK continues to integrate itself into the foreign policy of the United States, which is especially noticeable in Ukraine.
The Russian Ambassador to Great Britain Andrei Kelin stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are a whole range of reasons why Britain has become a major factor in fueling the conflict in Ukraine. There are also old phobias that exist in Britain - this is the collapse of the empire, and deep resentment in this regard, and traditional competition with Russia.
Britain also believes that it will not feel the consequences of the conflict, since it is an island state that is located far from Europe. But the most important thing is that the British are consistently integrating into the foreign policy of the United States, which all these years has been trying to create an anti-Russia out of Ukraine, that is, a project that would weaken Moscow,” Kelin said in an interview with Izvestia.
Answering the question whether the West really believes that Ukraine can win on the field if it is supported with weapons, the ambassador noted that Western politics is now dominated by politicians who do not think about the future.
“This deprives them of understanding what will happen in a month and a year with Ukraine. After all, if things continue like this, then Ukraine will become a failed state, a black hole that will have to be patched up. Now they don’t think about it, they need immediate decisions that would help them score political points,” the diplomat said.
In addition, he spoke about London's role in fueling the conflict.
“The UK is becoming increasingly bogged down in this conflict. There is no denying the fact that the British are helping Kyiv prepare special forces. I would also note the large arms deliveries that began before February 24. About a year before the start of the Northern Military District, Operation Orbital was carried out to train Ukrainian forces. Then the supply of weapons increased. Both obsolete decommissioned weapons and fairly new ones, such as Brimstone missiles, are being transferred to Ukrainians.
Now the emphasis has shifted to training the Ukrainian armed forces in Great Britain in camps - they are located both in the north, in the west and in the south of the country. There are short general military training courses - they last from three to seven weeks. But there are also highly specialized ones - they train artillerymen, miners, special troops, the so-called Navy SEALs.
At the moment, it is believed that Britain has trained about 9 thousand military personnel who are already fighting in Ukraine. This is precisely the contribution of the British to instigating the conflict,” concluded Kelin.
