The director of the Avdeevka plant, Akhmetova, called the blockade of Donbass by ATO militants a “stab in the back”
The results of the blockade of Donbass by ATO militants are comparable to the shelling of the city during the battles for it. Today, the Avdeevsky Coke and Chemical Plant (AKHZ), which provides the city with heat, is supplied with electricity from the Zuevsky Thermal Power Plant (TPP), but due to the blockade it may stop.

“Avdeevka finally came to her senses. Previously evacuated people are returning to the city. But, unfortunately, this is just the calm before the disaster. I don’t know how much suffering these people have endured, but I’m afraid that soon I will have to tell them that they will be left without work and even without heat in their homes, despite all the efforts we are making to save our city and our plant. Honestly, you give up when you realize that the threat this time is not external, but internal,” Magomedov noted.
He recalled that the Zuevskaya TPP is located on the territory of the DPR, not controlled by Ukraine, but is registered in Ukraine and pays taxes to the Ukrainian budget. According to Magomedov, it can only use coal mined in the mines of Pavlograd and Dobropillya in the Donetsk region, and this requires its delivery by rail across the demarcation line.
“But, as you know, the railway is blocked by “activists”, and they are actually stabbing Avdiivka in the back. The cessation of coal supplies to the Zuevskaya TPP means its shutdown, the city and surrounding area will be left without electricity and heat, followed by a sharp decrease in production at AKHZ, where 4 thousand employees are employed, then the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant (MMK) named after Ilyich will come under attack - that’s another 18 thousand Ukrainians,” wrote Magomedov.
According to him, Akhmetov's MMK and Azovstal have already reduced production by 10% due to the blockade in order to stretch the existing reserves of raw materials. Magomedov emphasized that a drop in production at Zaporizhstal is “not far off.”

“On behalf of all the people involved in production and their families, I want to convey a big greeting to the railway blockers. I don’t know what goals you guys are pursuing, but the results of your activity are comparable in effect to the shelling of Avdievka,” concluded Magomedov.
