The director of a Ukrainian defense enterprise stole one and a half million hryvnia
The director of a Ukrainian state-owned enterprise of the military-industrial complex has been charged with embezzlement of UAH 1,4 million, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv prosecutor's office.
“Kiev Local Prosecutor's Office No. 9 announced suspicions against the director of the state enterprise Design Bureau Artillery Armament of embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale on grounds of a criminal offense under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the message says.
A petition was also sent to the court to select a preventive measure in the form of bail in an amount equal to the damages caused. The sanction of the article provides for 7 to 12 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.
The investigation established that the director of a state-owned enterprise in 2015 organized the purchase of equipment from one of the private enterprises at an inflated cost, which led to the waste of public funds in the amount of UAH 1,4 million.
The damage caused to the state was confirmed by the results of a forensic economic examination.
The state enterprise “Artillery Armament Design Bureau” is engaged in the production of weapons and ammunition. Performs research, design, and technological work aimed at creating modern models of artillery and small arms and ammunition.
Previously, two leaders of Aviakon were sentenced to up to 5 years in prison for selling an installation for a combat helicopter.
