Diesel does not smell, winter is on the doorstep: Europeans are increasing fuel supplies from Russia
Europe has sharply increased imports of Russian diesel fuel, rushing to catch up before the EU ban on the supply of petroleum products from Russia comes into force on February 5.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, the Reuters agency writes.
Thus, according to Pamela Munger, senior market analyst at energy research company Vortexa, loading of Russian diesel fuel intended for the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) storage region increased to 215 barrels per day from November 000 to 1, an increase of 12% than in October.
In addition, statistics show that diesel fuel from Russia accounted for 44% of Europe's total road fuel imports in November, up from 39% in October.
It is noted that Russia still remains the largest supplier of diesel fuel on the continent.
“The EU will need to provide about 500-600 thousand barrels per day of diesel fuel to replace Russian volumes, replacement will come from the United States, as well as east of Suez, primarily from the Middle East and India,” notes energy expert Eugene Lindell.
