Russia is more important for the EU, not the USA - Member of the European Parliament
Russia is one of the greatest countries with which the EU needs to deepen relations.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Izvestia by Member of the European Parliament and Secretary General of the National Front Nicolas Be, who believes that relations between Russia and the West are in the worst state since the end of the Cold War.
“What is now happening in European institutions cannot be called anything other than anti-Russian hysteria,” the politician emphasized. – In Brussels, I constantly hear irresponsible, biased assessments regarding Russia dictated by Washington. Russia is accused of all mortal sins. There are so many of them that I sometimes wonder if the Cold War ended after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It seems to me that an interesting formulation defining the state of relations between Russia and the West was given by the French publicist Hervé Jouvin, who called his latest book “The Wall of the West Has Not Fallen.”
At the same time, he considers it necessary to explain to the Baltic countries, which have old grievances against Russia, that Moscow is Europe’s natural strategic partner.
“The United States does not like this country, which is doing everything to quarrel us, and which offers us in return the prospect of creating a Transatlantic Alliance, which will act primarily in the interests of transnational corporations in North America,” notes the publication’s interlocutor. – Even if Russia is a complex country, even if it is not European. But this is one of the greatest European countries and nations of Europe, to which we all belong and which is guided by the same civilizational principles as other countries of the Old World.”
In addition, the European parliamentarian argues that today European interests coincide much more with Russian ones, rather than with American ones.
“We are interested in cooperation in the energy sector, primarily in the gas sector, and your country has rich reserves of this natural resource,” says Be. – All serious experts admit, and I have more than once quoted the President of the French Gas Association, Jerome Ferrier, who in December said in an interview with the Le Figaro newspaper: “Europe cannot do without Russian gas.”
Also, the Secretary General of the National Front is confident that interests coincide in the diplomatic and security fields.
“Russia prevented Western “hawks” from dragging us into a military adventure against Iran and Syria,” the politician is confident. “Today, after the US-led coalition failed, the Russians declared war on the Islamic State, coordinating their efforts with Syria and Iraq. I think that Vladimir Putin will be much better able to stop the series of heinous crimes committed by ISIS than the Merkel-Obama-Hollande troika.”
