For Klitschko, Akhmetov and Fomenko, the “Maidanovites” prepared an ice shower: they called them to the Ice Bucket Challenge (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Kyiv, August 29 (navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko was challenged by his former Maidan comrades from the Democratic Alliance right under the windows of the capital’s mayor’s office, the Navigator correspondent reports.

The challenge was challenged by City Council deputy from the Democratic Alliance Galina Yanchenko, on whom her party comrades poured a bucket of water mixed with ice cubes. The reason for this kind of action was the decision of the Kyiv authorities to stop the supply of hot water in order to allegedly create gas reserves for the winter. According to her, the dousing with ice water took place “as part of the Ice Bucket Challenge movement.”
It is worth noting that the international Ice Bucket Challenge campaign has nothing to do with housing and communal problems, but was aimed at raising awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
The essence of the flash mob is that a person pours ice water on himself and makes a donation to fund funds for research into the disease, and then challenges three more participants, urging them to repeat their act.
“I want to do this not just for charity, but as a sign of solidarity with thousands of Kyiv families who were left without hot water this summer,” Galina Yanchenko explained to reporters before knocking over a bucket of ice.
In addition to the capital's mayor, a challenge was also thrown to the owner of the Kievenergo company, Rinat Akhmetov, and the company's general director, Alexander Fomenko.
“The three gentlemen I named will have to douse themselves with ice water in order to feel like real ordinary citizens of Kiev,” the deputy clarified, after which the prepared water was poured on her.
“I’m cold, but now I understand how ordinary Kiev residents really feel,” this is how a flash mob participant answered a question from an agency correspondent about her feelings after an icy shower.
