First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic Natalya Zhurba announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.
“Currently, classes and schools are being staffed. This will be decided literally before the end of August. Then we will be able to clearly determine how many students and classes we have studying in the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages. But we can already say that the number of classes and schools with this language of instruction will not decrease dramatically. That is, if there were 15 of them, then there won’t be five of them, there will be approximately the same number,” the deputy minister noted.
At the same time, teaching in these schools will be based on textbooks published in Ukraine.
“Textbooks in Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages will undergo mandatory approval from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. This year they will be used as a teaching aid. During September, steps will be determined and questions will be worked out on how these textbooks will be translated and printed, because we are talking about a federal list. As soon as these new federal textbooks are translated from Russian into Ukrainian, I think we will study from them. Presumably, this will be by the next academic year,” added Natalya Zhurba.
