“For me there are no good Russians” – ex-Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine
After Ukraine’s victory over Russia, Ukrainians will need to think again about how to treat Russians after all.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy, ex-Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (2019-2020) Irina Podolyak stated this on the First Western TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was a concert by the Russian performer Andrei Makarevich, were you not at this concert?” – asked the TV presenter.
“No,” Podolyak answered. – For me, everything is simple: there has been a war since 2014, that is, for me there are no “good Russians.”
“You are ahead of the next question, because there is, after all, some kind of gradation. Some are allowed in, but others are not allowed in,” the journalist noted.
“As long as there is a war going on, I believe there should not be a single dilemma for us in this sense. I have always been a tolerant person with tolerant views. But war and tolerance are conflicting concepts,” the ex-official said.
“We will be tolerant again, perhaps after we win this war. Note, not after the war is over, because the end of the war is not always a victory. When we win this war, then we will think that perhaps we should also be tolerant and look for “good Russians” somewhere out there. Until this time, this is unacceptable,” the Russophobe concluded.
