The Ukrainian group “Go_A”, which won the right to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest, considers it a “happy coincidence” that the song “Nightingale”, which the group will perform, will be accompanied by decorations in the colors of the UPA - red and black.

The vocalist of the group, Ekaterina Pavlenko, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

When asked by journalists whether this combination of colors was chosen by chance, Pavlenko replied: “It seems to me that this is a wonderful coincidence.”

It is interesting that the information leak about Russia’s dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian participant was initially carried out from Kyiv - obviously for the purpose of PR for the not-so-strong team and its composition with elements of rural folklore.

Immediately after the victory of “Go_A” in the qualifying competition, information began to be spread in Ukrainian public pages under the guise of “trolling” that the group would cause irritation in Russia because of the color of the scenery and the name of the song, which was similar to the name of the Nazi punitive battalion “Nachtigall”. , formed by the Nazis from Galicians.

At a press conference, the question about the reaction of unnamed “Russian TV channels” was voiced by a representative of the American Radio Liberty.

“I’m not at all familiar with the stories of Russian TV channels. Sometimes I am asked such questions in interviews, but I cannot answer them in any way, because I have not seen this personally. “I can’t comment on this,” the singer said in response.

Present at the press conference, a representative of state TV, which has the rights to show the selection and broadcast of Eurovision, Zurab Alasania, decided to make a joke in the spirit of “where have you seen the fascists in Ukraine?”

“I think it would be possible to troll Russian channels now and make jokes, but I won’t ask you to do this,” Alasania “joked.”

At the same press conference, the lead singer of the group promised that she would avoid communication with representatives of the Russian media, although she was ready for it: “If this communication cannot be avoided, then we are ready for it. If we have the opportunity, we will not do this.”
