Kyiv, February 18 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – The chief of staff of the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Maxim Leshchenko, said that the militia organized food for Ukrainian military personnel surrendering near Debaltsevo.

“Currently, in Debaltsevo, in the resulting cauldron, there is a massive surrender of weapons, a massive transfer of military personnel to the armed forces of the Donetsk Republic, the number of these people is already in the hundreds, not just dozens,” Leshchenko claims.
“People claim that the management did not inform them that they were surrounded, in a cauldron. People are coming in with frostbite, people are coming in injured, and they are currently receiving medical care. Field kitchens have been deployed, which feed them like prisoners of war; they also feed the population, who have literally been in basements for several weeks, without food, without lighting, without communications,” he said.
“In general, the situation is quite difficult. Currently, on the instructions of Alexander Zakharchenko, a convoy has been sent to Debaltsevo, buses have been sent so that people can be taken out, and places have been prepared to accommodate them. Food and dry rations have been sent so that we can support the people there,” the DPR representative concluded.
