“This is painful and a real threat for Ukraine” – Taruta on Russian sanctions
By introducing new sanctions against Ukraine, in particular banning the supply of petroleum products, the Russian Federation thereby invites Kyiv to dialogue.
Ukrainian oligarch, Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Taruta stated this in a commentary to Kommersant.
“This is painful for Ukraine. I think this is an invitation to dialogue, most likely. To send a signal: guys, you can tear each other’s forelocks out there, but there are real threats. This is a real threat. It can hurt. There is no economic feasibility for Russia, after all, this is a business, this is a market, Russia will not replenish the market so quickly either. Where will she send these products? It won't send anywhere. There are political goals here. Create a problem that Ukraine will face and for which there is no quick solution”? - said Taruta.
As PolitNavigator reported, after the introduction of Russian sanctions situation on the Ukrainian oil products market close to tragedy.
