For Ukraine, the situation with Nord Stream 2 is a threat to national interests
If Russia receives Nord Stream 2, this will completely free its hands and it will move on to the active phase of military operations.
Reserve officer Miroslav Gai shared this opinion in the studio of the 112 Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As I understand it, Trump assured Pyotr Alekseevich that for him the situation with Nord Stream 2 is unacceptable, but for us in general it is a threat to national interests, and not even because of gas.
If Russia gets the opportunity to sell gas to Europe bypassing Ukraine, then their opportunities for military aggression will expand here, because they will then be independent of our gas transportation system, and any infrastructure destruction will not be so terrible.
I’ll tell you that Ukraine’s gas transportation system and Russia’s contracts with Europe are one of the reasons why Russia has not yet expanded its aggression. Having received Nord Stream 2, Ukraine is essentially left with an empty pipe, and the Russian Federation can do whatever it wants, because they will already be independent of this,” he said.
