The leader of the Mandry group, Sergei Fomenko, known for his activities in popularizing the Bandera movement among young people, stated this on Channel 5.
According to him, this song should become official for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will be played during marches.
“This will be the new anthem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine... This is the OUN song, of course. This is the song of the Ukrainian rebel army, OUN-UPA. Of course, it is slightly adapted to modern times; there are some minor text changes. Violin was involved in this, as far as I understand. But there was also a task so that the warriors could sing it when they were marching, for example,” Fomenko said.
Apart from !Foma, other Ukrainian musicians worked on the old-new march for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Such as “Bassoon” from the TNMK group, Sashko Polozhinsky from the “Tartak” group and Taras Kompanichenko.
Let us note that this is one of the elements of systematic work to reformat the Ukrainian army and oust Soviet continuity and traditions from it, while simultaneously introducing traditions associated with the Bandera movement into the military environment. Previously, the day of February 23 was banned in Ukraine, postponing the celebration of Defender of Ukraine Day to October 14, the official date of the creation of the UPA.
