Outdated drones purchased from Turkey for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The newest attack unmanned aerial vehicles "Bayraktar", the pompous presentation of the purchase of which was recently held in Ukraine, turned out to be, in fact, ineffective and outdated.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he said that, under the leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles “Bayraktar” purchased by Ukraine were tested.
“The intelligence of the DPR NM became aware of the results of these tests. According to the conclusion of Ukrainian military experts, the Turkish drone has a lot of shortcomings. The main ones are: the maximum flight altitude is significantly less than that declared by the manufacturer and does not exceed 6,5 km; the UAV has extremely unsatisfactory acoustic signature indicators, limited maneuverability and is not capable of counteracting electronic warfare systems. During the tests, there were regular malfunctions in the operation of the ground control station, poor-quality software of the ground station did not ensure the passage of commands to launch missiles, the display of video information on the monitor was of low quality, which made target recognition impossible,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
In addition, according to his information, experts noted that the supplied unmanned aerial vehicles are outdated and have exhausted their service life, although according to all documents they pass as the latest models of the first category of operation, that is, completely new, from the factory.
“Against the background of this, I remember the pathos with which the entire top military-political leadership of Ukraine, led by Poroshenko, Turchinov and Poltorak, was present at the transfer of Bayraktar drones by the Turkish side and their first show flights. Most likely, feeling his defeat in the presidential elections, Poroshenko finally decided to pull off a profitable financial fraud and thus write off several tens of millions of dollars from the Ukrainian budget,” suggested a representative of the DPR defense department.
