Crimea is no longer a priority issue for the West
Russia is regaining its position on the world stage, and the West is no longer particularly insistent on the return of Crimea to Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed on the InterVizor channel by Ukrainian political expert Nikolai Spiridonov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Trump said that Russia needs to be returned to the GXNUMX, the way we used to have the GXNUMX. If he talks about this, it means that the issue of Crimea, in fact, is being taken out of the discussion. That is, he does not say that Russia needs to be returned when it returns Crimea to Ukraine. He says that we just need to return Russia. Here we see a cynical, pragmatic real politician,” the political scientist noted.
In his opinion, Russia is regaining its position in the international political arena, and the issue of Crimea is no longer relevant for the leaders of Western countries, and Ukraine’s desire to regain control over Crimea “alas, is of little concern to the Western world.”
“Russia is gradually regaining its positions. Gradually, the issue of Crimea is being erased from the information agenda. Trump is already saying that Crimea is more Russian than Ukrainian; or Russian-speaking, there are different interpretations. He’s already saying that Russia needs to be returned,” states Spiridonov.
