“Four mobile units and one field kitchen have been deployed on site to provide assistance to citizens waiting at the ferry crossing. If necessary, the personnel of the operational group are ready to deploy additional mobile assistance points,” the message says.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as of 12.00 Moscow time. were at the crossing from the port of Crimea. 170 cars, 13 buses and 12 trucks, about 1 thousand people. There were also 250 vehicles in the truck parking area.
It is worth noting that currently Crimea and Sevastopol are connected by dozens of bus routes across the strait with such important cities in the south of the Russian Federation as Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, Sochi. As of today, ticket sales for these routes have been discontinued.
Earlier, the Unified Transport Directorate reported that the Kerch crossing was closed for two days due to increased wind gusts reaching 24 m/s.
The storm warning in Crimea will last until October 26 inclusive.
