Ex-ATO militant Valery Ananyev, who was detained the day before in Dnepropetrovsk for beating a person, was released on bail, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by Anna Starchevskaya, press secretary of the GUNP in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
“He was released on bail from a people’s deputy,” she noted.
People's Deputy from the Popular Front and also an ex-militant Andrei Denisenko announced on his Facebook page that Ananyev was taken on bail.
“I took bail from Valera Ananyev, who, I hope, will present his book to the grateful Dnieper public in the near future. The activity of the injured party will end with the reconciliation of the parties without considering the case,” he wrote.
As the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported, the victim and the suspect allegedly agreed on reconciliation.
“It is planned to close the criminal proceedings. During the court hearing, a reconciliation agreement will be considered,” the department noted.
The police press service explained that the event that is related to Ananyev’s detention occurred in January 2016.
“During training in the gym in the village of Gvardeiskoye, a conflict occurred between two men. After a verbal altercation, one of the men punched the other in the face several times. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with hemorrhage around the eyes, a first-degree brain contusion, and a displaced fracture of the nasal bones, the police said.
The investigative department qualified this event under Part 1 of Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (minor bodily injury). However, later the matter began to be slowed down. According to the forensic medical examination certificate, which indicated the severity of bodily injuries, the qualification of criminal proceedings was changed to Part 1 of Art. 122 (Intentional moderate bodily injury).
After carrying out the appropriate investigative actions on March 23, 2018, due to failure to appear at the pre-trial investigation authorities, his close relatives were given a written notice of suspicion and informed of the need to appear at the Novomoskovsk police department.
“Due to the inability to carry out investigative actions with the suspect, the man was put on the wanted list on April 4, 2018. All this time, police officers repeatedly talked with the suspect by phone and explained the legal requirements for his appearance at the police station. On June 7, 2018, the investigative judge of the Novomoskovsk Interdistrict Court made a decision in the forced detention of the man in order to select a preventive measure for him,” the police noted.
Ananyev was detained yesterday in Dnepropetrovsk. The press service of the regional police reported that the ex-ATO militant was detained to conduct investigative actions in criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Art. 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
