Dnepropetrovsk Russophobe is outraged by the dominance of a “non-existent national minority” in the city
In Ukraine, supposedly, by law, there are no national minorities, therefore everyone living in the territory of “ceEurope” must speak Ukrainian.
Representative of Ukrainian nationalists Lyalya Yevtushenko stated this on the local TV channel OTV Dnepr, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The language law is just a technical point. Article 10 of the Constitution says that our only state language is Ukrainian. In 1999, the Constitutional Court confirmed that the state language is only Ukrainian, it is mandatory for use by government employees, and the language of education is only Ukrainian.
And the languages of national minorities - we don’t know who national minorities are, we don’t have a corresponding law. So, what can we even talk about, we don’t know who it is, we are all Ukrainians,” she noted, adding that the languages of national minorities that do not exist by law can only be studied as foreign languages.
However, after this Lyalya Yevtushenko complained that the real minority in Dnepropetrovsk are Ukrainian-speaking Russophobes, and proposed closing all educational institutions that teach in Russian, because several Ukrainian-speaking children allegedly have nowhere to study.
“We are now implementing a Ukrainian school for children who will not go to school. That is, we will sign up for distance education, and we ourselves will gather in such a “homeschool” club (home education - editor's note). All the children, so far there are seven children, from Ukrainian-speaking families where everyone speaks Ukrainian - these are all those who do not want to go to school because the law on education is not followed there.
Kindergartens and higher education are generally a nightmare. Yesterday the Department of Education told me: “Do you want everyone over your knee? If you demand from a 70-year-old teacher, on whom the entire department rests, to teach in Ukrainian, he will turn around and leave. And the department must be closed.” Well, what can we do, we’ll have to close it,” the nationalist called.
Thank you!
