The Dnepropetrovsk Teroborona warned of impending street battles, calling for people to leave the city
It is better for women, children and the elderly to evacuate from the Dnieper to the cities of Central and Western Ukraine.
The head of the Dnieper territorial defense center, businessman Gennady Korban, who was previously close to the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, stated this on the air of the local 11th channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Korban, it is possible that Dnepropetrovsk will be cleared as well as Mariupol, so those who do not want to be in the basements should leave the city now.
“I would recommend that women, children and the elderly, while there is such an opportunity, there is such time, make a decision for themselves and evacuate to safer places in Central and Western Ukraine. At least for a month, a month and a half, until we understand whether this situation will stop somewhere, at something, at some point or will continue.
I wouldn’t want to, it would be very painful for me if the residents of Dnieper find themselves in the same situation as the residents of Mariupol or Chernigov found themselves - this is simply a tragedy. Therefore, it is better to take children and women away, just in case,” Korban said.
