DPR and LPR cannot be recognized as terrorist organizations at the international level, – media
Kyiv, October 15 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Despite the efforts of Kyiv, the international community does not recognize the DPR and LPR as terrorist organizations.
This forecast is made by the Kiev business magazine “Power of Money”, according to which it will be a problem to prove the involvement of the DPR and LPR in committing terrorist attacks, but at the same time it is emphasized that this is only part of the problem, and by no means the most difficult.

“Perhaps we should start with the fact that granting these organizations the status of terrorist means, at a minimum, a strong difficulty in any contacts with them for government and interstate institutions,” the publication writes. “That is, in principle, neither negotiations, even with foreign mediation, nor, moreover, armistice agreements can be signed with them, at least until they declare their renunciation of terrorist activities.”
“The Power of Money” points out that there are even more problems with the international recognition of the DPR and LPR as terrorist structures, since there is no uniform definition of terrorism in international law, which makes it difficult to reach consensus on such issues.
“For example, of the huge number of terrorist organizations that existed during the second half of the twentieth century and those that exist today, only three - Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra Front and Boko Haaram - are recognized as such by the UN Security Council “, the magazine recalls, adding that it is much more important than the need for a unanimous vote of the UN Security Council so that the organization that they want to recognize as terrorist does not serve the interests of one or another world player.
The publication is confident that the Russian Federation will veto the decision on the DPR and LPR and is skeptical about the chances of overcoming it by the General Assembly.
“...this will require a lot of time and serious diplomatic efforts at the bilateral level,” states “The Power of Money.” – The situation is similar in the EU – here decisions are made unanimously at the level of foreign ministers. And among them, as you know, there are those who do not want to quarrel with Moscow.”
